Went to see the sound of music last night, it was fantastic. Connie Fisher wasn't actually performing but Phillipa Buxton was brilliant. It is well worth watching and would recommend it to anyone.

We've JUST got in after a night out at the theatre. It didn't matter at all that Connie wasn't in tonight's performance. Absolutely amazing set changes and much better than I thought. After watching the movie and being an avid fan of the film, wasn't sure if it would be hyped up... however, the hype was fantastic! Mr Von Trap got a little wolf whistle from me at the end too (so, I'm sorry if I deafened anyone around me ;-))- Hally

My daughter and I went to see the sound of music on August 6th and we enjoyed every minute, we followed Connie all through the TV show and we were delighted to see her in the part of Maria, she was funny and fantastic. The children were a delight and the delightful singing of Marilyn Hill Smith brought the house down. A truly magical experience and I would recommend it to anyone.
Christine Foxall \\ 07/08/2010

Julia Gardiner \\ 07/08/2010
Went to see the Sound of Music on 2nd August! It was absolutely fantastic! Connie Fisher was not appearing that night but it really didn't matter as Philippa Buxton as Maria was a star, beautiful voice and fantastic acting! Michael Praed was brilliant as the Captain and all the children were wonderful. Excellent performers, excellent staging and lighting and so good to have live musicians instead of just a recording or synthesizer.
All in all a fantastic performance and would highly recommend seeing it!
J Jenkinson \\ 04/08/2010
Fantastic show and all of the cast were brilliant. The set was really lovely and the children made the show. Both my mother and I shed a little tear!! I sang all the way to the car park!
Katie \\ 04/08/2010
We went to see Sound of Music 31st July, can someone explain to me why Connie could not reach the high notes and also she did not seem interested. I am not being bias because everything else was brilliant.
P. Simpson \\ 01/08/2010
Went to the 31 July performance - afternoon. A brilliant show, the whole cast were excellent,Marilyn Hill Smith has an amazing voice, but it was Connie fisher and the Children that lit up the stage whenever they were on. A great show for a family with older children - I think children under 5 may find it a little too long to sit through.
Jacqui Jordan \\ 31/07/2010
Cant wait to see it after reading all the comments. A very big well done to the Hippodrome for exchanging our tickets for us. They couldnt have been more helpful, particularly Paul!

Tracey \\ 24/07/2010
Congratulations to Marilyn Hill Smith playing Mother Ahbbess singing Climb Every Mountain. What an amazing voice and we had the benefit of hearing her sing this twice in this Show. Brought a tear to many an eye in the audience. The Show was was really lovely - the talent and professionalism of the children was remarkable. Connie Fisher was a great actress and proved to be very funny too. Her voice was clear and rich although I did wonder if she was 'holding back' in the power of her voice - perhaps she was taking care of her vocal chords. Thoroughly recommend this show to anyone. Well done to everyone, Cast and crew and the orchestra - the music was a treat to listen to!

An absolutely fantastic, enjoyable musical. The stage settings were beautiful and the music was delightful. Connie Fisher and the children were amazing but one of the most stunning and emotional performances was from Marilyn Hill Smith playing the Mother Abbess. When she sang 'Climb Every Mountain' and reached the final note accompanied by the rest of the nuns, the audience went wild. FANTASTIC!
Vicky \\ 17/07/2010
