Birmingham Hippodrome is committed to forging relationships with secondary schools in the West Midlands and surrounding areas and developing the next generation of artists and audiences. Because of this, we positively encourage schools and young people to develop an appreciation and understanding of theatre. This can be through a wide range of workshops and projects, led by our visiting companies or skilled freelance practioners. |

Queen Alexandra College a national college for students 16+ with visual impairment and other disabilities visted Birmingham Hippodrome for a backstage tour. "I really enjoyed the trip this morning. The best parts for me were going onto the stage, going in the dressing room and just looking around the Hippodrome. Thank you for showing us around." - Gurpreet "Thank you for welcoming us to the Hippodrome and for showing us how the sound and lights work backstage. Thank you also for showing us some of the props and dressing rooms. I couldn’t imagine how actors cope with everyone looking at them, so many faces. I might decide to do that one day." - Billal “Today we went to the Birmingham Hippodrome for an educational trip . I did enjoy the experience because it was interesting to learn different things on and off stage.” - Becky “ I found this trip very enjoyable and a good experience. I wish to thank the staff of the Hippodrome theatre”– Waseem |
